In an interview with Bloomberg, Samsung's executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, Lee Young Hee, said that:
“The Tizen phone will be out in August or September, and this will be in the high-end category... The device will be the best product equipped with the best specifications.”One of everyone's biggest concerns with another new operating system will be whether or not there will be enough apps for everyone to get their teeth into! This fear has seemingly been allayed by the Tizen Association's Chase Perrin, who said that there will be 'thousands' of apps to choose from when the software launches, he added:
“Android, among other mobile operating systems, is tightly controlled... As an open-source software platform, Tizen is designed to make it easy to develop for a range of devices.”Android is seemingly the operating system which is most at risk here, with Bloomberg's report quoting Strategy Analytics January report saying:
"Android’s challenge for 2013 will be to defend its leadership, not only against Apple, but also against an emerging wave of hungry challengers that includes Microsoft, BlackBerry, Firefox and Tizen."What do you think? Are you interested in a Tizen powered super phone or is it Android, iOS and Windows Phone from here on out?
