More Galaxy S4 details: Interest figures, UK processor confirmation and wireless charging!

Today the Carphone Warehouse has announced that they have seen four times the interest in the Samsung Galaxy S4 compared to last year's S3! The actual figure taken from people showing their intentions betweem 25th and 30th April 2012, for the S3 compared with S4 pre-registration figures taken from the 15th to the 18th of March this year show a whopping 446% increase in pre-registrations this time around!

Now just because there is a lot of interest doesn't mean that this will directly translate to sale; the device might end up being too expensive or there is some other issue, but it does show that Samsung is certainly getting their smartphone range into consumers minds! The price might however, prove to be the stumbling block because there's also the Xperia Z, HTC One and the LG Optimus G Pro, each of which are worthy alternatives!

Secondly, it looks like UK residents will not be getting the Octa-core variant of the Galaxy S4, instead it seems that the S4 with the quad-core Snapdragon 600 will land on our shores! Omio received a confirmation which read:
“In the UK the Galaxy S 4 will be available as a 4G device with a 1.9GHz Quad Core Processor... Samsung Galaxy S 4 is equipped with a 1.9GHz Quad-core AP or a 1.6GHz Octa-core AP. The selection of AP varies by markets.”
And finally, although Samsung didn't specifically mention wireless charging at their launch party last week, the Galaxy S4 does support it, but not out of the box, just as the Galaxy S3 was supposed to but Sammy never made the accessories for it! We know there is wireless charging support because Qi have confirmed that their wireless charging standard is in use, something which Clove said should:
"In theory you should be able to use other Qi wireless charging accessories rather than Samsung's own ones, but we’ll need to confirm that once we’ve received stock of the device."
So what do you make of all of this? UK residents are you happy with the Galaxy S4 having the quad-core processor? Do we all want wireless charging support out of the box? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
