People now spend more on smartphone gaming then dedicated portable consoles!

The guys over at AllThingsD have been able to get their hands on a report before it was published which indicates that for the first quarter of this year mobile gaming had more money spent on it than the dedicated handheld console, which consists of devices like the Nintendo DS and PS Vita,  market did.

To be fair this comparison in Q1 is a little deceiving. The sales on portable handhelds like the PS Vita are very cyclical and they tend to focus very heavily on the Christmas period, whereas mobile gaming has a consistent stream of high quality games coming to the market throughout the year so it's not just a one off, as you can see in the bar charts below.

The thing is that with mobile games getting ever better and your mobile phone and tablet becoming ever more powerful, people find it hard to justify the extra outlay on devices which offer comparable experiences. Lets face it, if we could play Angry Birds on our phone and only have it ad-supported, instead of dropping $30 on it for a console game, we think we'd probably opt for the free version. This price gap definitely has some sort of impact because people are more inclined to spend little amounts more often on mobile games then make more substantial purchases on dedicated games.

The interesting thing to see now will be what direction this market goes in the future. Will everything be on your phone or do mobile games  consoles still have a place? Let us know your thoughts in the comment below!

Windows Phone is now third in the smartphone wars!

The IDC have done it again and this month they're back with an update to the distribution of the mobile OS' and they have revealed that the for the first time ever Windows Phone is officially the world's third placed operating system!

This months stats show that Windows Phone is slowly starting to garner more attention, while Blackberry's current lack of phones is starting to impact their overall market share. Obviously, the battle for third place seems somewhat insignificant because both Blackberry and Windows Phone are miles behind the runaway success stories of Android and iOS!

As you can see from the tablet above Android is the runaway leader in terms of market share, with huge quantities of devices being sold, indeed Google announced that there are at least 900 million devices which have been activated running their operating system just yesterday! In second place is Apple with their quantities of sales steadying a little and seeing 6% year over year growth in the volumes of phones they ship. Having 17% of the market is still a remarkable achievement considering that they only sell three phones at any given point in time!

Then comes Windows Phone which saw year over year growth in sales of 133%, which means they only shipped 7 million phones in the last quarter, but some growth is good growth! Then there's Blackberry devices, Linux devices, Symbian devices and the fateful 'other' categories which round out the stats.

Do you expect Blackberry to head back above Windows Phone when cheap BB10 device start arriving? Can Windows Phone gain on Android and iOS? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

BBM to come to Android and iOS this summer!

Blackberry have today confirmed that their popular messaging solution BBM will be going cross platform! With the messaging service set to arrive on both Android and iOS this summer!

There are only a couple of remits which have to be filled for you to be able to make use of the free app and they include having a device running iOS6 or higher or Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher! After that there's not much more to know other then the fact that Blackberry want to start to bring features across bit by bit. They said they plan to begin "with messaging and groups, but we'll bring voice, screen share, and of course, channels later on." With the ultimate aim of maknig the BBM experience on the other platforms as fully featured as possible!

Wow, we definitely weren't expecting that when we tuned into the stream! Heins said that, "It's time, to bring BBM to a greater audience" and that's definitely what this will achieve! WhatsApp, Kik and others will have a tough job on there hands adding in the extra features which BBM will have, but we do wonder whether or not Blackberry have missed the IM boat here?

America's Department of Defence gives Samsung Knox and Blackberry 10 the go ahead: iOS being considered!

In government departments security is obviously one of the most important things, especially when it comes to defence. No government likes people knowing state secrets, which is why the Wikileaks issue became so infamous. A key part of that security are the mobile devices which people carry around with them and so the new wave of phones which the Department of Defence has given the green light is quite interesting.

According to TheVerge the Department of Defence has now issued approval for the use of the full range of BB10 devices, so the Z10, Q10, and the PlayBook are all good to go when they're using Balckberry's Enterprise Service 10.

Devices from Samsung running their Knox software, which we can only assume have been given to the DoD early, will be allowed too, but we don't think the software will arrive until July this year! That's great news for Samsung as it gives their devices more credibility in the eyes of businesses and alleviates the fears of running Android, which people often have.

iOS on the other hand isn't quite approved yet, apparently there are still a few outstanding questions which the government has about the operating system, probably the lockscreen bypass reports which have been circling lately, but the OS is expected to be approved in the next two weeks!
What do you think? Which OS do you use for your work phone and does your company have a policy which limits the phones you can use? Let us know in the comments below!

Twitter launch their #Music service!

The last few weeks seem to have been dominated by rumours! We've already seen the rumours of Archos smartphones be confirmed and it seems Twitter's much discussed music service has sprung into life too!

The new service is called "Twitter #music" and it can be used online and via a new iPhone app (which you can get here). The whole idea of #music is to allow you to find new music which is popular on Twitter and to find new songs from bands which you already follow on Twitter.

Screenshot of the 'Popular' tab on the
iPhone app.
Twitter  took a good decision to integrate the #music features with the streaming services Rdio, Spotify and iTunes. This means that if you have a Rdio or Spotify account you can listen to the whole song for free, but those of you with iTunes can only hear a snippet!

According to ABC News the app for iPhone has a nice "clean and polished design," which features four navigation tabs; Popular, Suggested, Emerging and #NowPlaying. Popular obviously
gives users an overview of what's erm popular, Suggested offers you recommendations based on people you follow, Emerging gives you an overview of people which are undiscovered and #NowPlaying lets you see what  friends are listening to or posting on their twitter feed.

Twitter announced that both the iPhone app and online service will be available today in the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. An Android app is reportedly in the works, as is wider country availability!service will expand to Android as well as to more countries later on.

This all seems to be well thought out, but what do you guys think? Is this the sort of thing the music industry needs or what you need? Let us know in the comments below! If you want to check out the online version of the service then head here!

Blackberry's Thorsten Heins says Apple 'were' successful whilst discussing Blackberry's future!

Blackberry's CEO Thorsten Heins, recently had an interview with the Australian Financial Review and he offered his opinions on everything from Apple right through to BB10 and the prospects of new Blackberry tablets.

When the topic of Apple came up Heins said that:
"Apple did a fantastic job in bringing touch devices to market. They did a fantastic job with the user interface, they are a design icon... There is a reason why they were so successful, and we actually have to admit this and respect that."
What Heins said there is quite interesting because he repeated mentioned Apple in the past tense, so they 'were' successful, which means Heins thinks that Apple is no longer at the forefront of the smartphone battle. He went on to justify this claim with the statement that:
"History repeats itself again I guess. The rate of innovation is so high in our industry that if you don't innovate at that speed you can be replaced pretty quickly [he knows from experience]. The user interface on the iPhone, with all due respect for this invention was all about is now five years old."
Five years in the smartphone market is a very long time! We only have to think back three years to the original Samsung Galaxy S to remember there was a single-core processor and now we're looking at a device with eight cores and a full HD display! If you want to go back four years then you might remember Nokia's iconic, but shockingly poor, N97, so with Apple's interface having stayed the same for five years, perhaps Heins has a point, but naturally you could ask what's the point in changing something that 'just works'?

Heins added that he now thinks BB10 devices are much better at multitasking than the iPhones and he acknowledge that iOS has a better array of apps, but he argued that with 100,000 native BB10 apps, users shouldn't be too disappointed when the Z10 launches in America this week!

When it came to tablets we basically heard what we have before. Heins reiterated that he:
"Wouldn’t want to do it the same way again, if I do something around tablets, I want it to be really substantial and meaningful, and quite frankly it would need to be profitable as well... I think the profit pool is very very thin. Kudos to Apple, I think they really managed to own that space, so it doesn’t make sense for me to just take this head on. I need to figure out, for my enterprise customers, for my consumers, for my BB10 audience, what can I do that provides them a mobile computing experience in the form factor of a tablet, which goes beyond just the puristic tablet experience."
At least this time Heins is being realistic without simply jumping in at the deep end and hoping Blackberry can swim!

He touched on the 'unhelpful' rumours of a Lenovo buy out as well as bits and bobs about the general direction in which Blackberry are heading and to be fair everything seems to be very calm and calculated with Thorsten at the helm!

Google set to unleash Google Now onto iOS devices?!

Android users have probably come to love and be slightly scared by Google Now since it arrived last year! The super-smart people at Google have somehow worked out a way to get your smartphone to learn where you live, the things you like and so you always have a list of things nearby and you know exactly how long it'll take to get to work or back home when road delays have been factored in!

The video embedded below was spotted by the guys over at Engadget and it seems to say that Google Now will be landing on iOS devices a lot sooner than we think! The YouTube video, which seemingly broke cover a bit too early and was subsequently pulled, has a demonstration of how to access the Now features via the iOS Google Search app!

There's been no official statement from Google on the matter, as we've come to expect, but surely it'd be good to have a compelling alternative to Siri for Apple users? We're not sure if that means the video is an elaborate hoax, but with the speed at which the video disappeared, we think it was definitely real! What do you think, is this something you would be interested in? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Apps: Upfront costs are dead - long live 'freemium'?

A couple of years ago you could expect to pony up 69 cents, pence or euros for the latest game or app to land in the app store, it was just how things worked. But, it seems that of late the way people and developers are changing and we're steering very much towards in-app purchasing. What's really interesting that if you have a look at the top ten downloaded apps on iOS you'll find that there is one paid app in the top 10 iPhone chart and the same is true of the iPad stakes too! In both instances that app is Minecraft and that is an exceptional app, which justifies its relatively high up-front cost.

This is quite the contrast from a few years ago; when the iDevices launched the iPhone saw a plethora of 69p games available and the iPad applications were even more expensive than that, some of them nearing the price you would expect to pay for computer or games console content!

So why the influx of free games? Well part of this can be attributed to in-app purchases, you might have heard about them, they tend to make the news because children have a horrible habit of spending a thousand or so pounds through this sales avenue! Indeed, BGR reports that:
"Leading app developers have figured out how to decouple download volume from revenue generation by creating free games that seduce their fans into paying steadily for in-app features. The types of of games that require a $0.99 or a $2.99 fee per download are turning into something resembling nostalgia items. For a stark example of how badly the revenue generation power of paid apps has faded, consider that the current #1 paid app on iPhone, Wood Camera, is 46th on the iPhone chart that lists top-grossing apps."
That compares very unfavourably with things like Clash of Clans which was one of the top grossing apps through January this year, but it was ranked a lowly 53rd on the iPad download chart for the same month!

The way to consumers hearts, it appears, is to offer them something for free and then slowly, but steadily, require them to purchase things in-app! This was so successful through 2012 that in total nearly 70% of all revenue earned through Apple's App Store arrived through in-app purchases. EA All Play's senior vice president and general manager, Nick Earl has said that:
"One of our predictions for 2013 is that freemium gaming models (and in conjunction, the availability of in app purchases) will become the norm... The majority of our portfolio is now freemium games —they tend to monetize better than one-time-downloads, and allow us to cater to the consumer demand for premium experiences at little to no cost."
EA are the biggest earners on both Android and iOS so it's no surprise that where they lead other smaller developers will follow.

One stark example of how successful this model is Rovio's star game 'Angry Birds'. For the last few years Angry Birds has been a 69p app on the App Store, but very recently the app and its HD cousin became free! We're not sure if that's a permanent move or not, but we would suggest that it is and here's why. If you point your browser to the website link to Angry Birds on the App Store on the left-hand side about half way down you see this, right. If you just have a little look at the pricing of the in-app add-ons you'll see that the cheapest options are 69p and the most expensive are £3! So Angry Birds is now free, more people will download it, if anyone buys two in-app add-on Rovio ends up making more money then they would with the one time purchase model! Add to this the fact that Rovio charged 69p for Angry Birds for three or so years beforehand, securing the title as the most downloaded app of all time and it's easy to see why this game has been so successful for the company, and it's clear that now is as good a time as any to shift to the in-app purchasing model.

So whether we like it or not it seems that 'freemium' apps with their in-app buying options are here to stay! But, what do you think? You now know it's cheaper to pay for the app in one go up-front, but do you prefer the in-app purchases? Would you rather apps were ad-supported? Let us know in the comments below!

Tweetdeck mobile apps discontinued to focus on the web: Twitter point us in the direction of the official app.

It's been announced today that the popular Twitter client, TweetDeck, will cease their work on iPhone and Android apps to focus solely on their web-based experience. The Android version of the app has been sitting on its current version since the end of 2011, but as you know people like Paul O'Brien have been making other options such as Tweakdeck on that foundation. This means that those custom built apps will be discontinued too, Tweakdeck's explanation is here!

For current users you will have until May to find a new client, when TweetDeck will be pulled from both the App Store and the Play Store.

In a blog post Tweetdeck said:
"To continue to offer a great product that addresses your unique needs, we’re going to focus our development efforts on our modern, web-based versions of TweetDeck. To that end, we are discontinuing support for our older apps: TweetDeck AIR, TweetDeck for Android and TweetDeck for iPhone. They will be removed from their respective app stores in early May and will stop functioning shortly thereafter. We’ll also discontinue support for our Facebook integration."

There was also some blame placed on the retirement of the v1.0 API, which most apps currently rely on.

In all honest this shouldn't be too much of a surprise for anyone because Twitter is basically trying to force people back on to their official mobile client instead of using other people's alternatives. Combine that with the lack of development for nearly a year and a half and it's not too much of a surprise. Tweetdeck said that the improvements and 'investment in Twitter for iPhone and Twitter for Android' should be enough for most people. We understand this is annoying, just like the token limit is for developers, the Falcon Pro incident stands out in recent memory, but Twitter have made it abundantly clear how they want their service to be offered to customers, so we really can't have too many complaints.

Are Apple losing their edge amongst teens? It's not a problem it's just how teens work!

Now the phone pictured above, the iPhone 5, is an insanely popular phone. Apple sold more than two million on the devices first sales weekend in China, which added to the five million Apple sold on the first weekend in the rest of the world! So let us be in no doubt that Apple and their brands are still insanely popular. But, having said that there are reports coming in which are suggesting that Apple may be coming towards a need for change, because their popularity may actually conspire against them!

There are a lot of iPhones out there in the wild and it seems that teenagers, who intently strive to stand out from the crowd, are starting to feel this with regard to their phones! Forbes have posted some research from Buzz Marketing who have said that so many people rocking devices which are exactly the same has removed some of Apple's X-factor. Tina Wells, the head of the youth marketing agency, said:
“Teens are telling us Apple is done... Apple has done a great job of embracing Gen X and older [Millennials], but I don’t think they are connecting with Millennial kids. [They’re] all about Surface tablets/laptops and Galaxy.”
We bluntly disagree with the 'Apple is done' statement, but we do see where the research is coming from. There is currently a lot of iPhones and this 'cool factor' was one of the problems RIM faced a couple of years ago with teenagers, where it reached the point that 'everyone had one' and so people started getting iPhones. Tina Wells concurs saying:
"Everything moves in cycles and you can’t rest on your past glory. You’ve got to evolve to maintain relevance. Apple just needs to focus on innovation and teens will come back."
There's currently the perception in teenage circles that 'everyone has iPhones' so teenagers are turning again to something new, it's just how they work! I actually had an example of this the other day when I went to dinner with a group of eight friends. I was the only one who didn't have an iPhone but, to my surprise people were intrigued by the Samsung Galaxy S3 in my hand: everyone was taken aback by the size and 'uniqueness' of it, which is surprising given the vast amount of these which you see around and about!

With this in mind, it is interesting to hear that Insites-Consulting’s Joeri Van den Bergh said:
“There was quite some negative buzz about the iPhone 5 and the lack of a real incremental innovation, except for the screen size and weight, when compared to the 4S. So this has an effect on the originality component of coolness."
We're quite sure that there is something in this: iOS hasn't been changed in interface terms for a while and you can't really personalise it to show off to your friends. Combine this with a lot of kids seeing their parents, teachers and in some cases, hip grandparents rocking the 'easy to use' iPhone then it's not surprising the kids aren't feeling it. This is by no means a problem Apple as Mr. Youth's, Matt Britton, explains:
"Samsung and the Android platform is indeed a formidable competitor. But the interwoven ecosystem and flawless nature of Apple’s products will make its growth prospects pretty much a sure thing for the foreseeable future. Remember, the entire U.S. smartphone market has just passed 50% penetration, so both platforms have nothing but growth ahead of them."
We couldn't have put it better than that ourselves!

07/01/2013: Samsung sold 500 handset per minute in Q4 while HTC struggled! Elop on Nokia using Android and much more!

Samsung reportedly sold 500 handsets a minute in Q4 2012 and earnt $5.5 billion in profit!

Today Reuters has published a post explaining how Samsung has earnt profits close to $8.1 billion (which works out to around £5 billion) for Q4 2012! The report explains how Samsung's sales have been excellent handset sales, especially sales of the Galaxy Note 2, as well as the large orders they've received for their chipsets which made Q4 a stellar time for the Korean giants.

With both Samsung’s OEM and consumer electronics businesses again seeing growth analysts don’t expect anything to slow down for the foreseeable future. This has pushed the company’s shares to record values and they'll likely only be heading upwards as we progress through 2013.

Morgan Stanley analyst, Shawn Kim said, "Guidance is unlikely to disappoint given new product launches and a further upturn in cyclical parts of the business... Smartphone momentum has not decelerated, despite Apple's new iPhone, and the business continues to be driven by its flagship products. This time, it's the Galaxy Note II ... with the upside in unit shipments mainly from the U.S. We expect strong momentum to continue in the first quarter."

Reuter's continued to say that "Samsung's flagship Galaxy S III, which overtook the iPhone 4S in the third quarter to become the world's best-selling smartphone, are likely to have slipped to around 15 million in the last quarter from 18 million in July-September. But estimated sales of around 8 million Galaxy Note II phone-cum-tablets, or 'phablets', should more than make up for that - pushing overall smartphone shipments to around 63 million, analysts estimate." Which is great news for Samsung and disproves the 'too big' myth which many people have been discussing!

It's expected Samsung's sales will slow down as people start waiting for the Galaxy S4, but whe that device is release it will reinvigorate sales again!

HTC had their worst quarter since 2004!

Sometimes it's hard to know why things aren't going right, but for whatever reason they're not. That's exactly the predicament HTC finds themselves in at the moment. They seem to be competing with Samsung and Apple, both of whom are selling their phones by the bucket load, but HTC just can't get a magic formula together at the moment. In Q4 2012 the company returned their smallest profit since they started making Android devices so where next?

At the moment HTC has pinned their hopes on the new portfolio of devices which will be landing this year. The much rumoured M7 and a new version of Sense (pictured here) are the supposed saviours. Either way this does not detract from the fact that HTC made £21.5m profit in the past three months off of a total revenue of over £1 billion.

With income still around that figure there's nothing too worrying yet, because HTC can always cut some costs, but it's their lack of manufacturing ability which Samsung and even LG have which is holding them back from making a solid profit!

Elop says 'anything is possible', but reaffirms he's content with Windows Phone.

Stephen Elop is Nokia's CEO and their current leader, he was the one who took the company into the Windows Phone arena and he says that he's quite happy with the position of his company at the moment! He said in an interview with El Pais, a Spanish newspaper, that he even sees Nokia's current strategy getting them in double-digit marketshare at some point in the future and that Lumia 920 sales have been encouraging. When asked about the possibility of using Android as their OS of choice this is what Elop had to say:
El País: Do you discard launching an Android phone next year?
Elop: In the current ecosystem wars we are using Windows Phone as our weapon. But we are always thinking about what's coming next, what will be the role of HTML 5, Android... HTML5 could make the platform itself—being Android, Windows Phone or any other—irrelevant in the future, but it's still too soon [to tell]. Today we are committed and satisfied with Microsoft, but anything is possible.
Elop makes an interesting and rather astute point when he says that HTML5 and the apps which come with it, could make platforms irrelevant in the future. We'll have to wait and see, but as a worst case scenario for Nokia they can always fall back into the loving hands of Android!

01/01/2013: Ubuntu planning something 'you can almost touch', 'Do not disturb' not turning off for some iOS users, WebOS on Nexus 7s and much more!

Ubuntu count down to a January 2nd launch: Is it a touch-centric option?

Ubuntu is always towards the top of the list when you ask people about the most popular Linux distributions available. Ubuntu's creator Canonical is also pretty on the ball when it comes to finding the next trends and keeping up with the times; Ubuntu for Android was a great example of this.

But, it seems that Canonical founder, Mark Shuttleworth, also has plans to offer their Linux-based OS for smartphones and tablets.  clued readers in on the company's plans to bring the OS to mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, to help familiarise people with the brand and their offerings. We can speculate that this is a realisation of part of that strategy because Ubuntu's countdown timer reads 'So close, you can almost touch it.'

We'd like to see this turn out to be a touch centric version of Ubuntu which is compatible with desktops and the new touch optimised tablets which would offer a rival OS to Microsoft's freshly launched Windows 8! What do you think this announcement will be? Let us know in the comments below!

Apple's 'Do Not Disturb' feature not turning off for some users this morning.

After last year's issues with alarms not going off in iOS, until January the 3rd when the issue 'fixed itself', there is another small issue some of you might be experiencing if you use iOS' 'Do Not Disturb' feature.

There's been reports on both Macrumors and Whirlpool forums so there are definitely some people who are experiencing this at the moment. One Whirlpool user wrote:
"Woke up this morning and the iOS Do Not Disturb featured which was suppose to be turned off at 6:30am was still on at 8am. Is this a bug or did Apple do this on purpose knowing everyone will be partying out late on new years eve and so gave a little bit of extra time to sleep on new years day :)."
Some people have said that turning the 'Do Not Disturb' mode off and on again will fix it but if that doesn't work for you there might be some other work arounds which come to light in the near future and we'll update the post if we stumble across any!

In other news:

  • Amazon have explained the reasons for the Netflix outage on Christmas Eve which affected their customers in America, South America and Canada. The issue centred around the Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) service which caused the outage. A 'handful' of the 'hundreds' of ELB's Amazon uses suffered an outage and those devices which tried to connect to these ELB's couldn't and so they couldn't access the Netflix service.

And finally, Google's hugely popular Nexus 7 tablet has had its very own taste of Open WebOS. The quad-core device seems to have a mostly unstable port so far, but at least wifi and the browser seem to be working pretty well. WebOS Nation said the developer, Simon 'morphis' Busch, behind this port managed to get this much running in his free week off from college, which is pretty good going if you ask us!  WebOS Ports has announced that they will build on this work and hopefully we'll see something working fully at some point in the new year.

comScore tell the story of Europe's smartphone choices: Android and iOS lead the way!

comScore are back today with a new piece of research from their MobiLens service, which outlines the rate of smartphone adoption within Europe's big five markets. So this research concerns France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Unsurprisingly, smartphone adoption is on the rise again, just breaking the 50 percent barrier, with smartphones now in the hands of 54.6 percent of mobile users, a 13 percent increase over the same time last year! On a more country specific level Spain and the UK have 63 and 62 percent smartphone usage respectively, but on the other end of the spectrum Germany is 1.2% off of half their mobile using population rocking smartphones!

Just like the United States, Android and iOS are the platforms driving growth and Android is doing spectacularly well. The platform has an extra 12.4 percent audience share compared to October 2011 and is now only a few percent short of half of the market share, at 46.6 percent. Apple saw a modest 1.5 percent increase to a 28 percent share. The news is not as rosy for the rest of the bunch; RIM are holding third place but their share is down 2.5 percent and Symbian again lost a huge amount of users, down over 10 percent to 6.4 percent of the whole smartphone market. And Microsoft is bringing up the European rear, with a 3.1 percent smartphone share, which on the plus side is a growth of half a percent compared to the same period last year!.

These operating system statistics reflect in the Top OEM chart too. Apple is out in front with  28 percent of the share, again there was a small growth to 28% of the market. That means that one in every four smartphones that you see around Europe is made by Apple, a staggering statistic given they only offer three different phones at any one time! Samsung's recent growth is reflected through their share more than doubling in a year to 24 percent! The tale of woe continues for everyone else though as RIM, HTC and Nokia all lose market share year over year. Nokia came out worst, losing just over half their market share. But, when you consider that Nokia's eggs are firmly in the Windows Phone basket, it is not surprising that Nokia's sales are reflecting Microsoft's 3 percent presence in Europe! So we expect that to dwindle even more by this time next year!

So where will the market go from here? If we are going to place our bets, we can't see anything changing from now until next year, although Nokia might slip off of the top 5 chart to be replaced by someone like Sony who have been doing extremely well in the UK lately!

So that's where my data allowance went...

When most people buy a contract nowadays the first considerations they make is the amount of minutes and texts they're going to be using each month. But, soon after they'll start thinking about the quantity of mobile data they're planning to use. Some people think they won't use much and opt for smaller data allowances and sometimes get stung because they underestimate their usage. Others choose to go for the opposite end of the spectrum and overestimate their usage, to avoid the dreaded bill shock!
