Huawei Ascend W2 leaked!

Guess who's back yet again with another leak! Yeah that's right it's @EVLeaks yet again and this time the device is said the be the Huawei Ascend W2, a supposed successor to the Ascend W1 which launched a fair while back.

The UnwiredView are saying that they expect this to be a really good little device and they think that it will land with:
  • 4.3” 720p HD IPS Touchscreen
  • 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU
  • 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, HSPA+ support
  • 2,000 mAh battery
If they're right then this is a solid mid-range phone and with Windows Phone 8 and it should be a relatively well priced handset as well! What do you think? The design language reminds us a bit of the Acer Iconia B1, but that's probably just because of the blue accent on the side! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

EVLeaks tease the brown Galaxy Note 8.0!

EVLeaks and Samsung have both been busy lately. Samsung have been carpet bombing every small inch of the market and EVLeaks have already given us a rumour that there will be a HTC phablet on the way today! It seems like the latter is back with a new leak and this time it's a picture of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in the nice new brown colour which Samsung are starting to deploy!

You can see an image of the device below and in case you've forgotten what the Galaxy Note 8.0 offers then you can check out our announcement coverage here and the image below has the full overview just in case!

EVLeaks make mention of a HTC phablet: HTC looking to diversify?

HTC have recently been rumoured to have sold 5 million of their flagship, the One, but that phone is interesting because it's only got a 4.7" display. That's a fair bit smaller than the 5" flagships from this year and it's a long way behind the phones like the Galaxy Note 2 in the screen real estate department.

With that in mind it's interesting that the notorious tipster @EVLeaks has come out with this latest tweet which says that HTC are working on a phablet to compete with the giant phones which we're seeing this year.

As you can see from the tweet below there's not very much information at the moment, but we would suggest that the T6 codename could be quite important. In recent weeks the rumours have been that the Galaxy Note 3 for Samsung will be about 6 inches in screen size and Sony are also rumoured to be working on a phablet. The 6 in the T6 codename could be a big nod towards the side of the screen!
This is a rumour at the moment, but given EVLeak's record and the fact that HTC will need to compete in a variety of screen sizes and budgets to return themselves to the huge profits which they were earning, we wouldn't be at all surprised to see this come into being!

Huawei's super thin Ascend P6 pops up on EVLeaks!

So the Huawei Ascend P6 was never much of a surprise: it's been leaked possibly more than any other phone in the past few weeks, but that doesn't mean we're still not excited to see what is in store for us. Today the guys at EVLeaks have again managed to get their hands on some press pictures of the new device and wow, this device looks stunning.

As you can see from the picture embedded to the right, the phone has definitely got itself in shape for the summer and it looks to be unbelievably thing! We're not sure how thin it is, but it looks impressive alright. Rumours suggest it's 6.2mm thick, but it's impossible to say at the moment. That tiny chassis is meant to hold a 4.7 display, which is likely to be 720p if we know Huawei, as well as a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. At the moment there's no word on the battery, but we can expect it to be a small unit just to ensure that everything fitted in here. That tiny little camera sensor on the rear of the phone is said to be 5MP and you can see the flash on the rear of the phone too!

The device is reported to have Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on board and as you can see Huawei seem to have skinned that pretty heavily, but strangely enough there doesn't appear to be any navigation buttons. That might just be down to the way EVLeaks have applied a skin to the phone outline, or they might be hidden a little more subtly as capacitive buttons around that Huawei logo.

And finally, Huawei's boss let it slip on Weibo that the phone will launch on June the 19th in London, but naturally that status has now been deleted! So what do you guys think? Is this going to be a great phone or is it just Huawei showing off a little? More importantly though, do you want one?

According to Syria's government-run news services the down time was due to fibre optic cables failing, but it's more likely that the government chose to shut off the internet as a way of silencing the people fighting for freedom from the Assad regime.

EVLeaks post a picture of an unknown LG phone: Optimus G2 anyone?

The guys and or girls over at EVLeaks are busy at the moment and it seems that with their latest leak they've decided to promote their Facebook page a little. The device which they used is the one pictured above which the guys speculated is the LG Optimus G2.

Obviously there's nothing more to go along with this device except for what you see on the screen, but according to the comments on the post some people have been busy doing some maths and they think that the screen checks out at 5.5", which puts it in the same ballpark as the Optimus G Pro, but it seems a little on the large size for average consumers and remember that's only a guess.

One other interesting point is that seemingly new speaker grill. We're not sure whether or not we're fans of that at the moment, it looks strangely like a HDMI port to out eyes! Similarly there appears to be a lack of physical buttons, which is great, but again we're not sure if there are touch buttons on the left and right of the LG logo, much like HTC opted for with their HTC One. The rumours say that this will be the first phone with the Snapdragon 800 processor inside from Qualcomm, but again there's no way to check this out until we get some more details from LG or the tipsters!

What do you think? Does this look right to you? Do you like the design? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

The HTC M4 leaks: If this is real Samsung might have to rethink their S4 Mini plans!

HTC might have been in dire straights at the end of last year and the start of this, but with their new flagship the One getting rave reviews left right and centre it's safe to say that the company should have sturdied the ship lately. With that in mind it seems like the company are keen to capitalise on the success of the HTC One with something which is a little bit cheaper, but in many ways similar!

That's seemingly why we have this device, the M4. The guys over at EVLeaks have struck again and the device you see above is to all intents and purposes the little brother to the HTC One. The best way to think of it is as the Galaxy S3 Mini to the Galaxy S3, but without the huge gulf in specs which those devices have!

If the rumours are right this device will have a great 4.3-inch 720p display and a dual-core processor, which is currently unspecified. These will be backed up by 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM and HTC's UltraPixel camera technology. As you can see in some regards this is a step down from the HTC One and as such it should be less battery intensive, we certainly hope so because HTC has chosen a 1700mAh battery which is said to be non-removable, something which we're still not fans of especially given the small cell capacity here.

According to PhoneArena the device will be able in the last few weeks of May or during June and it is set to arrive with Android 4.2 at the helm and LTE connectivity too!

For those who can't quite afford the premium on the HTC One this device could be a fantastic alternative. If HTC keeps the aluminium casing and they manage to keep this affordable then Samsung will have problems shifting a Galaxy S4 Mini if it lands in the same price bracket! If this is right then the summer is shaping up to offer a great range of phones in the mid-tier!

EVLeaks post supposed pictures of the Nokia Lumia 520 and 720!

Sometimes we wish we knew some of the people the guys over @EVLeaks know. The guys have done it again and they've tweeted out pictures of two supposed devices. The shots below look very much like press photos and so we're inclined to believe that these are what the devices will look like.

Lumia 720.
Naturally they're in the bright rainbow of colours which we've come to expect from Lumia and Windows Phone devices more generally. The Lumia 720 will supposedly be the higher range of the pair and it's meant to feature a 4.3-inch display with Nokia's ClearBlack filter, as well as a 1GHz dual-core processor. The device is also meant to be packing 2 and 6 megapixel front and rear cameras along with 8GB of storage internal storage which will supposedly be microSD expandable.
The slightly more budget 520 is rumoured to have a 4-inch display, 5-megapixel rear camera, but there's not meant to be a front facing option, other than that we're expecting to see everything else that the Lumia 720 offers inside this device too!

If you want to see a few more pictures then head on down past source links and be sure to let us know what you think! Would you be interested in either of these devices?

HTC M7 rendered again by EVLeaks, while UserAgent reiterates 'HTC One' name!

HTC's upcoming flagship will be vital for the company's success, so whenever there are rumours or suggestions about what it will look like the internet perks up and takes some notice. With that in mind @EVLeaks latest render caught our eyes.

The notorious leakers tweeted another render of the upcoming M7 or HTC One, depending on who you like to believe and the picture and tweet are embedded below:

We must say that if this render is accurate it is a very good looking device. But, at the moment we're not sure who to believe when it comes to this phone because Android Police posted something slightly different up on their site, pictured right. To be totally honest we wouldn't be too upset if either of these landed as the finished device. They are both attractive and slick looking devices even if the second, to the right, does have a bezel which reminds us of the original Samsung Galaxy S.

Both of the devices appear to show that new version of HTC Sense which we're all expected and the render and picture can at least agree on that, even if they disagree on the arrangement of the home buttons.

If you're wondering about specs then the best guesses the internet and us can muster would suggest that there will be:
  • A 4.7-inch 1080p 468ppi SoLux display.
  • A Quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 processor.
  • Both LTE and HSPA+ connectivity options.
  • 32GB of internal memory, we're not sure if it will be expandable.
  • 2GB of RAM.
  • 13MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras.
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.
  • 2,300 mAh battery, which would suggest HTC's poor battery capacities will continue!
And finally, if you were interested in the naming of the device, then we heard some rumours that the device would simply be called the HTC One. This rumour has seemingly been reinforced by a UserAgent Profile, unfortunately these are often faked so this could just be a case of this again, but we'll have to wait and see! All of the important bits are included in the Profile embedded to the right!

With only eight days until the device is officially announced we're sure excited for what HTC will offer us in 2013 and hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised when the device is officially released! What about you? What do you think it will be called and which one of the pictures do you think it will be? Let us know in the comments below!
