  • Samsung and LG are at each other's throats over the eye tracking software on their respective flagships, the Galaxy S4 and the Optimus G Pro. The technology which LG says offends their patents is Samsung's Smart Pause which 'copies' Smart Video by LG, because it pauses video when users look away from the screen. LG says it applied for patents for this in 2009 and that they have other eye-centric innovations way back from 2005. We're not sure who's in the right and whether Samsung are telling the truth when they said they implemented it in their own unique way. All we know is that it's a cool feature and we want it on all smartphones from here on out, but by the same ticket we'd like LG's phones to not look so similar to Samsung's and we'd like everyone to get on! Are we asking too much? We'll keep you updated on where this one goes!

  • Apple is pushing out iOS 6.1.3 to users at the moment. The update fixes the lockscreen bypass as well as improving mapping in Japan too. One unfortunate side effect of the update is that Evasi0n's jailbreak is also broken, so avoid updating if you wanted to jailbreak!

  • Verizon seem to have gone crazy with the software updates this week and today they have announced an update for Samsung's Droid Charge! Now don't get too excited this is still Android 2.3.6, but there's now face unlock, video snap shots and a photo editor. On top of that Verizon will cut back some bloatware and they're added an app called 'Get Video Calling'! Any update is a good update for devices as old as the Charge though!

  • Sky have announced that they will allow Now TV subscribers access to the fantastic Sky Sports content for £9.99 per day. That will give you access to as much football, F1, tennis, cricket, rugby, or whatever else you wanted on their channels! We know that's not cheap, but if there's one game you fancied watching once a year, this is a good way to do it. Other wise you could head down the pub, but that might work out more than a tenner!

  • Verizon has stated rolling out the Android 4.2.2 update for their branded Galaxy Nexus' (or Nexi depending on your preference)! Naturally you get everything everyone else does with vanilla Android 4.2.2 so there's photosphere and that new gesture keyboard amongst other things! The update is rolling out in stages so it should land soon!

  • San Francisco's 49ers are the reigning American Football champions and they're currently building a 68,500 seater stadium! The news here is that they are planning to offer a huge WiFi network which will let every single fan online at once during the games! ArsTechnica said that the network will be so good, "Smartphones and tablets will run into the limits of their own hardware long before they hit the limits of the 49ers' wireless network."
