Nokia announces exclusive apps for their Lumia series.

Want a Windows Phone? Need a tiny bit more convincing to choose that over the already outdated Android alternative? Then Nokia has a little promotion that might somehow catch your attention.

The company is offering PGA Tour, Groupon and Angry Birds-themed content all of which will be exclusives for between 3 and 6 months with the exception of Angry Birds which will have content only for Lumia smartphones. There will also be Live Tiles sports scores, team-level panoramas, score/league/team personalization, and the inclusion of tennis, NASCAR and the 2012 Olympics to the existing ESPN app in Q3. The final exclusive which will last a year(!) is the AOL Entertainment Hub.

These apps are dropping at different times too; PGA Tour will hit your device in July whereas the others won't arrive until autumn/fall. It's not that amazing but it's good to see Nokia working with software partners to offer something a little bit unique!

RIM announces more changes to big guns.

RIM is obviously not content with the current line up of chief-'somethings' and today the have unveiled their two newest team members. They are Kristian Tear who is the Chief operation officer, and Frank Boulben will be the new chief marketing officer. The pair both have experience in the tech world before; Tear previously worked for Sony, where he had numerous appointments, the most notable being the Executive Vice President of Sony Mobile. Boulben conversely has experience at Lightsquared, where he was the Executive Vice President of Stategy, Marketing, and Sales.

Only time will tell if these two have what it takes to help float RIM's sinking ship.
