08/11/2012: Verizon and their Windows Phones on the way, a new Humble Bundle and much more!

Verizon and Windows Phones on the way!

The dawn of Windows Phone 8 is nearly upon us and HTC, Nokia and Samsung will have their offerings available for pre-order on Verizon from tomorrow! This will mean the HTC Windows Phone 8X, Nokia Lumia 822, and Samsung ATIV Odyssey will get the new OS off to a solid start!

As we have come to expect each of these devices will be arriving with 4G LTE and Verizon is hopeful that the WP8 will bring with it “new ways to further personalize your smartphone” and "blend in seamlessly with your life" something Nokia keeps touting as a key aim for their phones! Verizon also added that “Windows Phone 8 will debut on a number of new smartphones” so we might be getting a few more devices in the not too distant future!

Just in case you miss the announcement and were wondering what marvels the Nokia Lumia 822 holds then it is essentially the Lumia 820 for Verizon. Which is itself the little brother of the beautiful Nokia Lumia 920. The Lumia 822 will appeal to you if you want a smaller phone than the 4.7" size we're currently seeing flagships come in at!

The Samsung ATIV Odyssey, on the other hand, is a bit of an enigma and we know very little about the device at the moment; we have no idea about specs or release date, although we expect it'll be Verizon-ed version of Samsung's ATIV S! All Verizon has offered up thus far is that it is “exclusive to Verizon Wireless and available by the end of the year.”

The Nokia Lumia 822 will arrive in Black, White, and Grey colour choices for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two year contract. The Windows Phone 8X by HTC will be ready for Thanksgiving in swathe of colours for $199.99 with a new two year contract. The red and black options though, are exclusive to Verizon!

What do you think about Windows Phone 8? Are you excited about it? And are the bright colours really enough to temp people away from iOS and Android?!
