ZTE announce the Grand X2 IN: Intel's new Clover Trail+ processor finds a good home!

   Yesterday evening ZTE introduced the latest in their line of Android-powered smartphones and this one is the ZTE Grand X2 IN! The device is a very solid mid-range phone with a nice set of specifications and hopefully a very reaosnable price tag too!

   On the inside there's one of the brand new Intel Clover Trail+ processors from Intel. In this particular instance it's the Z2580 Atom processor which can be clocked all the way up to 2GHz, this is paired with 1GB of RAM as well as 8GB of internal storage which is MicroSD expandable with cards up to 32GB supported here. There's also Android Jelly Bean on board, but we don't know which version of it and there's a good 4.5" IPS display with a 720p resolution up at the front, all of which will be powered by a 2,000 mAh battery!

   One particular area of interest is the camera set up on this device. On the surface there's a 1MP front-facing shooter and the rear option is an 8MP sensor with a flash, but this smartphone has a special trick up its sleeve and ZTE say that this device has one of the, "shortest shot-to-shot times on the market, capable of up to 24 frames per second and no shutter lag. It secures a high image quality in challenging environments with real-time 2x axis stabilisation, and face and smart scene recognition," and that sounds pretty darn sweet to us and that should be great for capturing action shots!

   ZTE said that their phone:

"Is set to build on the success of the ZTE Grand X In, our first flagship smartphone in Europe to feature Intel Inside, and further increase ZTE’s growth in the high-performance smartphone market segment."

   ZTE have confirmed that the device will be arriving in Europe in Q3 this year and it will also be available for a demo in Monaco in at the MedPi conference from 14-17 May 2013, when we can hopefully get a better feel for this device and possibly even a price point!

• HTC are rolling out an update for their flagship, the One! The update should arrive OTA in the next week and to quote the official changelog the update includes;

• LG have announced that the company had a bit of a rough time in the last quarter as profit fell 22% in Q1 compared with the same period a year earlier. The slip was blamed on the stagnant TV market, where profit fell by about $80 million to $322.88 million. On the plus side LG's phone business is picking up, driven by sales of the Optimus G and Nexus 4 in particular with good sales expected to come from the G Pro too! Lg expects their new smart TV's with 3D and or 4K to give them a boost later this year!

• Some of you might have seen the hack of the AP twitter account which resulted in a tweet saying that the White House had been attacked yesterday! It seems that in light of that attack Twitter is working on two-step verification to make sure that that sort of thing doesn't happen again! Apparently it's in internal testing at the moment before a wider rollout happens.

• Nintendo have announced their latest financial results and things still aren't fully back on track for the guys from Japan. They're reporting that their net sales were down again, this time it was a 1.9% drop from the same time last year, but on the plus side the net income was a total of 7 billion yen, so at least they're not losing money any more! As for sales, the Wii U is struggling with 390,000 being moved since December, but on the plus side the 3DS is selling well, with 1.25 million leaving shops since December!

• Microsoft have signed up ZTE to their patent licensing rota too! That means that Microsoft now has deals with more than 20 companies making Android devices! We're not sure of the exact details of the agreement, but it might be a cross-licensing deal, but for the moment it's impossible to say!

And finally, for those of you in the UK, Which have today reported that Tesco are the best mobile phone network when it comes to pleasing their customers! Tesco's press release on the matter  says that with a '72% overall score for contract, with Which? stating it “ticks all the boxes ...and it’s not hard to see why its customers are satisfied.”  [Tesco] scored 71% for Pay as you go overall customer satisfaction.' Not bad results and obviously Tesco's use of O2's network is proving to be a popular mobile offering!

ZTE release the Grand Memo: The first phablet to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800!

   What's a better way to combat the latest round of phablets? Well naturally it's to release your own, so here's ZTE's answer to the Galaxy Note, it's the ZTE Grand Memo!

   So how good is the screen on this device? Well ZTE have equipped this phone with a 5.7-inch 720p HD TFT display which should be good enough for most people's eyes! Other than that the Grand Memo is the first device to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU out of the box. In this instance the processor will be clocked at 1.5GHz and it'll be paired with 2 GB of RAM. On the optical side of things there is a 13MP rear camera and a 1MP front shooter so you photos will happily fill up the 16GB of internal storage! As you'd expect Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is running the show and the only real limit here seems to be the internal storage on the device.

   ZTE will be customising your interface on this device with their 'Miflavour UI' and there's one unique addition which is the ability to "tap and hold on the screen for a few second, or you can do a pinch-out gesture that brings up a few shortcuts, like the phone, calendar, camera, etc" which should be quite useful for jumping straight into your apps, assuming you don't have a pin code on your device.

   All of that will be crammed into a chassis which is 8.5mm thick and ZTE have also put a well size 3200mAh battery in there too! As you would expect with a device which is targeting the higher end of the market you'll get WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, an ambient light sensor, a gyro sensor and LTE connectivity!

   The Grand Memo will be coming to China in March this year and those of you in Europe can pick it up 'later this year'. For the moment there's no word on pricing and we don't know if it'll land on US shores!

ZTE Open spotted at MWC: Firefox OS for emerging markets will become a reality!

   Hot on the heels of the pictures of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 some cheeky monkey has managed to get around to the ZTE booth where they've snapped a picture of what will soon be ZTE's first Firefox OS based device.

   As you can see from the spec sheet above there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and the MSM7225A is actually the same processor as in the LG Optimus L5, the HTC Desire C ans Sony's Xperia Tipo. It can be clocked at speeds up to 800MHz, although either 600 or 800MHz are the standard choices, so this is not a powerhouse by any means!

   Other than that there's a capacitive TFT LCD screen which has a HVGA, that's 480 x 320p resolution and there's a 3.2MP camera which may well be just on the front of the device, we're not sure what 'FF' stands for at this point. But, the 1200 mAh battery, the 512MB of internal storage, the 256MB of RAM, the usual array of sensor and connectivity options round out the budget handset! 

   With this device don't be too phased by the poorer specs, Firefox OS is designed for emerging markets so this is exactly the sort of hardware Mozilla is targeting. When we have more details or a picture of the 'ZTE Open' we'll be sure to let you know!

ZTE and Nvidia team up for the first Tegra 4 phone!

   Last year Nvidia's Tegra 3 processor didn't end up inside too many smartphones, instead manufacturers tended to put the Tegra 3 inside their tablet devices, with the HTC One X, One X+ and the LG Optimus 4X HD being the notable exceptions. This trend has seemingly carried forward into this year too, with a distinct lack of phone manufacturers being forthcoming in their adoption of the Tegra 4 chipset, possibly because it won't be launching until Q2. Which may explain why we've seen HTC and Sony opt for Qualcomm's new Snapdragons on their high end smartphones. 

   That's not the end of the story though and fear not Tegra lovers, you'll soon be treated to your Tegra 4 chipset courtesy of Nvidia and ZTE! A smartphone, which is currently being developed, will come with a Tegra 4 as well as an additional i500 LTE chipset. This will mean you'll get your full 72 graphics cores, 12 of which you'd be missing if you were to get the Tegra 4i processor instead.

   The device will supposedly be with us before the 'mid-year' and ZTE explained how, 'This is a clear demonstration of ZTE’s ability to quickly develop, and bring to market, market-leading devices running the industry’s latest technologies.' ZTE announce the Blade III for Virgin UK!

   We first covered the ZTE Blade III in September last year, as you can see from that post a lot of things have changed here at TTF, but there hasn't been any change to the device which launched in Europe's Nordic countries late last year. 

   On board you'll still have your 4 inch WVGA, that's 800×480p, a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 A processor, Android 4.0, a 5 MP rear-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of expandable internal memory. All of this will along with the normal set of connections you would expect from a phone in 2013 and a solid 1600mAh battery, which should last relatively well.

   Now we know that the phone on it's own isn't exciting, but much like the OG Blade and the Blade 2 (Orange San Francisco and San Fran 2) before it the real story is the price. Surprisingly this phone won't currently be offered up by Orange, instead it'll find a home on Virgin Mobile, where it will retain the very reasonable price tags the predecessor championed! For those of you after the phone on  Pay As You Go prices will start from £79.99, which seems very reasonable for a 4" Android smartphone. Contracts aren't quite as good value, the phone will cost you £18 per month, or £13 if you happen to be a Virgin Media subscriber (we all know how Virgin love their bundled discounts!).

   For the Pay As You Go price you can't really go wrong, but if you're looking at contracts and you're undecided then you might be tempted by Samsung's super-cheap Gaalxy Ace instead which is currently available on contracts which cost a mere £7.50 a month!

   The other day we heard that Phones4U were planning on launching their own mobile network, but it seems like their plans aren't stopping there. The company will, according to CCS Insight analyst Ben Woods' observant eyes, be launching a range of Phones4U branded phones which will be manufactured by ZTE.

   The tweet embedded below contains a picture of ZTE's in house magazine and an interview with some of Phones4U's bosses. When these bosses were questioned on plans for their own brand fo phones the reply read:

"We are planning it. Probably halfway through 2013," which was followed up with the comment that, "We may do that in conjunction with ZTE."

   We're a little surprised to be hearing this given that both ZTE and Huawei are working on building out their brand names in European and North American countries, but then the more devices in people's hands the better, especially for ZTE, who have already secured the title of the world's fifth biggest phone manufacturer for their efforts in 2012.

   If ZTE's previous efforts with British carriers are anything to go by then the devices will probably be mid- to low-range just like Orange's San Francisco and Monte Carlo were, both of which were good devices in their own rights, especially for their price!

   2013 will be a big year for both companies; ZTE will start their assault with Mozilla's new Firefox OS, whilst simultaneously managing their Android commitment and Phones4U's network, which launches in March, will be offering 4G before the year is out! Hopefully the duos combined projects will give us something to make us equally excited!

Apple announce the iPad will be available in 128GB models!

   Apple has only traditionally offered their devices in 16, 32 and 64GB versions, until today! Today the guys from Cupertino revealed that a new larger capacity iPad, with the same specs as the current fourth generation devices!

   It's interesting that Apple has chosen to bump up the storage offerings at this exact moment. It may well have something to do with those 128GB Surface Pro's which are right around the corner, but we doubt Apple would ever admit to that. We're not entirely sure those are head-to-head devices either, iOS isn't quite OSX and the Surface Pro tablets offer fully fledged Windows. Not to mention the Surface Pro tablets make the smaller storage options for iPads look relatively cheap too!

   But, nonetheless people always ask for extra storage and now we have it! You can get the 128GbB Wifi-only iPad for $799 (£639) or the 3G one can be yours for $929 (£739). Are you interested? Let us know in the comments below!

BB10 looks good according to poll.

   Everyone's looking forward to seeing exactly what RIM will be showing off tomorrow and if a poll of American's from YouGov and Bite Interactive is a representative one then quite a fair few other people are looking forward to the release of the operating system too!

   According to a poll of 1,127 adults who were told about the known features of the upcoming BB10 handsets nearly half of the participants found at least one of the improvements compelling and a total of one in eight said they would happily consider buying a BB10 device. With this last stat we're not sure whether it's a good or bad one really, but one in one hundred people polled said they have firm intentions to pick up a BB10 device right from the off. 

   The main issue people are concerned with here is that consumers are already invested in either iOS or Android and Microsoft already know how hard it is to get people to change their OS after attempts to push BB10. • The Nexus 4 is in stock in select stores around the world at the moment. Germany, America and Canada have them and the bumpers in stock, we can't imagine that'll last too long though! Get going!

• XBMC have released version 12 of their media center software. The update now means that there is full support for Android and the Raspberry Pi so you can get this running on any of those new USB Android computers. There's a tonne of new features as well! And finally, ZTE will soon be releasing their new Blade C on the world. This will be the third in the series which you might know better for being called the Orange San Francisco's! According to UnwiredView the device will arrive with a 4 inch WVGA display, 3G, 3MP rear camera, Bluetooth 4.0, a dual-core 1 GHz MediaTek MTK 6577 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and a 1,600 mAh battery. This isn't a bad set of specs for a phone which will cost somewhere in the range of $112 off contract (That's €84 or around about £72).

IDC show off mobile sales numbers for Q4 2012!

   The quarterly results in smartphone sales are in and as always the IDC's statistics make very interesting reading! The most interesting data from our point of view is the smartphone data and that is what we'll consider.

   Naturally Samsung and Apple turned out to be number one and two in terms of shipped devices just like normal. But, after those normal candidates we've seen Huawei leapfrog Sony into third place and there's ZTE bringing up fifth place!

   Interestingly everyone inside the top five saw growth in double digits and there was exceptional growth for both Samsung and Huawei, both of whom saw growth above 75% year-over-year! Every one else did well, but we were surprised to see Huawei's Chinese competitor ZTE only record growth just above 10%!

   With regard to smartphone sales in general they were all quite high in Q4 2012, there were 219.4 million units, which equates to 45.5% of all mobile phones, which is the highest percentage ever sold. This was a solid growth of 36.4% year-over-year, although the IDC were slightly disappointed that this came in below their forecasted growth rate of 39.5%!

   For the whole year though the totally added up to 712.6 million smartphones which were shipped in the whole of the year, a 44.1% increase from 2011.

Bits and Bobs from Day 3 at CES: ZTE to launch a Firefox OS powered device this year in Europe! Kogan show off a super cheap 5" smartphone! And one of Apple's guys pops up for the cameras!

ZTE set to offer a Firefox OS device in Europe!

   In an interview with Bloomberg today ZTE's CEO, Cheng Lixin, say that his company was planning to offer a device running Mozilla's HTML5 based operating system, Firefox OS, within the year! 

   It's reported that ZTE is teaming up with an unspecified European wireless carrier to introduce the device. The potential candidates at the moment are Deutsch Telecom (parent company of T-Mobile) and Telefonica (O2's master) because they are key supporters of Mozilla's Firefox OS project. 

   Cheng also said that they are considering branching out into the US, probably depending on how well this upcoming phone sells and what else is brought to the table this year. He said, “We closely monitor the ecosystem and how it evolves... If that is ready and if consumer studies support that data, then we may launch one in U.S. also this year.” A US launch would probably be supported by Sprint, who are also carrier partners of Firefox OS!

   On thing to mention is that Engadget had a little hands on with a phone earlier in the week that was running Firefox OS! The device and picture from Engadget are embedded to the above and to the right. We're very surprised that no one has noticed that this looks surprisingly like ZTE's design language! But, that is not to say that this is going to be released, but it could very well be a test device manufactured by ZTE!

   For example it looks very similar to the ZTE N910 crossed with the ZTE Kis! Both of those phones are pictured below! Try to merge them both in your head and you'll see what we're on about! Take the speaker grill from the N910, the capacitive buttons, the white frame and even the microphone hole on the bottom left side!

Kogan go after the phablet buyers with an unbelievably cheap offering!

   Sometimes manufacturers drop something that makes you say wow. Sometimes it's because it's bad, sometimes because it's good, sometimes it's because it's spectacularly good value! This device, the Kogan Agora, is the latter of those options. 

   The Agora 5.0 is a phablet, well it's the same size as the new Xperia Z and the Droid DNA, but it's got a dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 4GB of internal memory and a Micro-SD card slot which can take cards up to 32GB, 512MB of RAM and a 2,000 mAh battery which promises nearly 5 hours of talk time. If you're wondering about the screen, that's a 5" WVGA (480 x 800) LCD panel, which is capacitive and you get a pair of cameras, the front one is 0.3MP and the rear-facer is a 5MP unit. The whole device runs Android 4.0.4 ICS, which is not all that bad really!

   But, that's not really the story here. The real treat is the price. How much would you expect a dual-sim phone with those specs to cost? £250? £200? £150? No. In fact this thing will set you back £119! That's the same price as a Galaxy Y Pro from Expansys! 

   If you're interested then you can pre-order the device here! It might not be your primary phone but it would be a good back up or a good device for taking on holiday with you! It's also worth bearing in mind that there is a limit of 3 devices per customer, we're not sure why at the moment, but if we find out then we will be sure to let you know!

ZTE announce the Grand S!

   Like many of the other phones which we have seen announced this week ZTE have brought along a new Android device with a quad-core processor, a 5″ display 1080p screen! Despite the similarities it's hard to deny that this one is a looker!

   ZTE's new Grand S has everything you'd expect of a flagship 2013 device: there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro running at 1.7GHz, a 13 mega-pixel rear and 2MP front-facing camera, the 2GB of RAM should keep this chugging along nicely, 16GB of internal storage, MicroSD card slot and there's LTE compatibility too! Android Jelly Bean will be powering the show along with some 'expert hardware and software safety protection' which will help manage power usage and help keep your information safe, ZTE didn't specify what that was though.

   Not that that really matters because the real talking point is that they managed to cram all of that hardware into a frame which is 6.9mm thick! That skinniness will go some way to explaining why the battery is a tad disappointing, coming in at 1780mAh.

   The device will arrive in China for 'online purchases' in Q1 this year. We're not sure whether this device will make it to the rest of the world yet. The press release for this device is available at the bottom of this post!

   And finally, Apple might not be at CES to give us a presentation, but that hasn't stopped some of their employees going along and having a look around! Apple's Craig Keithley has been spotted and snapped on the CES floor by 9-to-5 Mac. Here he is pictured below!

07/01/2013: Samsung sold 500 handset per minute in Q4 while HTC struggled! Elop on Nokia using Android and much more!

Samsung reportedly sold 500 handsets a minute in Q4 2012 and earnt $5.5 billion in profit!

   Today Reuters has published a post explaining how Samsung has earnt profits close to $8.1 billion (which works out to around £5 billion) for Q4 2012! The report explains how Samsung's sales have been excellent handset sales, especially sales of the Galaxy Note 2, as well as the large orders they've received for their chipsets which made Q4 a stellar time for the Korean giants.

   With both Samsung’s OEM and consumer electronics businesses again seeing growth analysts don’t expect anything to slow down for the foreseeable future. This has pushed the company’s shares to record values and they'll likely only be heading upwards as we progress through 2013.


   Morgan Stanley analyst, Shawn Kim said, "Guidance is unlikely to disappoint given new product launches and a further upturn in cyclical parts of the business... Smartphone momentum has not decelerated, despite Apple's new iPhone, and the business continues to be driven by its flagship products. This time, it's the Galaxy Note II ... with the upside in unit shipments mainly from the U.S. We expect strong momentum to continue in the first quarter."


   Reuter's continued to say that "Samsung's flagship Galaxy S III, which overtook the iPhone 4S in the third quarter to become the world's best-selling smartphone, are likely to have slipped to around 15 million in the last quarter from 18 million in July-September. But estimated sales of around 8 million Galaxy Note II phone-cum-tablets, or 'phablets', should more than make up for that - pushing overall smartphone shipments to around 63 million, analysts estimate." Which is great news for Samsung and disproves the 'too big' myth which many people have been discussing!

   It's expected Samsung's sales will slow down as people start waiting for the Galaxy S4, but whe that device is release it will reinvigorate sales again!

HTC had their worst quarter since 2004!

   Sometimes it's hard to know why things aren't going right, but for whatever reason they're not. That's exactly the predicament HTC finds themselves in at the moment. They seem to be competing with Samsung and Apple, both of whom are selling their phones by the bucket load, but HTC just can't get a magic formula together at the moment. In Q4 2012 the company returned their smallest profit since they started making Android devices so where next?

   At the moment HTC has pinned their hopes on the new portfolio of devices which will be landing this year. The much rumoured M7 and a new version of Sense (pictured here) are the supposed saviours. Either way this does not detract from the fact that HTC made £21.5m profit in the past three months off of a total revenue of over £1 billion.

   With income still around that figure there's nothing too worrying yet, because HTC can always cut some costs, but it's their lack of manufacturing ability which Samsung and even LG have which is holding them back from making a solid profit!

Elop says 'anything is possible', but reaffirms he's content with Windows Phone.

   Stephen Elop is Nokia's CEO and their current leader, he was the one who took the company into the Windows Phone arena and he says that he's quite happy with the position of his company at the moment! He said in an interview with El Pais, a Spanish newspaper, that he even sees Nokia's current strategy getting them in double-digit marketshare at some point in the future and that Lumia 920 sales have been encouraging. When asked about the possibility of using Android as their OS of choice this is what Elop had to say:

El País: Do you discard launching an Android phone next year?

Elop: In the current ecosystem wars we are using Windows Phone as our weapon. But we are always thinking about what's coming next, what will be the role of HTML 5, Android... HTML5 could make the platform itself—being Android, Windows Phone or any other—irrelevant in the future, but it's still too soon [to tell]. Today we are committed and satisfied with Microsoft, but anything is possible.

   Elop makes an interesting and rather astute point when he says that HTML5 and the apps which come with it, could make platforms irrelevant in the future. We'll have to wait and see, but as a worst case scenario for Nokia they can always fall back into the loving hands of Android!

We've got a PadFone 2 on the way!!!!!

   Asus' original PadFone was one of the stand out devices from last year. Literally no one bought one but everyone thought it was a great idea! So excuse us for being quite excited about a souped-up successor!

   While we don't have any details about the device yet we've seen a lot of reported benchmark details about the phone. If these benchmarks turn out to be accurate then we'll be seeing a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, just like LG's upcoming Optimus G, topped with 2GB of RAM and Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

   Mark the date, October 16th, in your diaries because we're about to see another take on the future of phones!

Lenovo from IFA 2012!

   Lenovo released a couple of tablets from their A series the over day which we have previously covered, but there's one that we haven't mentioned that really stands out!

   That device is elegantly named the Ideapad S2110 The tablet itself has a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and a nice 420nit brightness and it's got a great little attachable keyboard dock for all your work. You’ll have 10-finger touchscreen abilities here too because the show is run by the powerful Qualcomm 8060A/8260A 1.5GHz dual-core processor (aka a dual-core Snapdragon S4).

   The tablet on it's own is rated for 10 hours of battery life and with the keyboard dock you’ll have 20 hours of battery life! Without the dock the whole thing weights in at just 580g so it's quite heavy but not unbearably so. If you're one of them people that likes good shooters on your tablet then this one will just about pass; there's a 5 megapixel camera with Auto Focus and single LED flash, the front houses a 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat. Inside you’ve got 1GB of RAM as well as Bluetooth 4.0, built-in FM Radio, and this thing is Wi-fi only, sorry!

ZTE Grand X IN gets released!

   ZTE has another addition to their Android line-up today and this one is the world's first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with an Intel inside.

  

   The phone has an Atom X2460 running the show and the back casing is quite unique because it's hatched and surprisingly interesting. On the front there's a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 display and a 0.3MP camera and round back you've got a powerful 8 megapixel camera with single LED flash. 

   Depending on your point of view you'll either be smitten with ZTE’s custom user interface we will just say it's a very bubbly affair with a few custom widgets thrown in for good measure. By way of redemption though there is 4G HSPA+ connection with up to 21Mpbs and has Intel's 'Hyper-Threading Technology' too. With this technology and the Intel XMM 6260 Platform you’ll be working with ultra-fast web browsing and an all-around super speedy user experience chipzilla promises.

   To keep you going through the day you've got a 1650mAh battery and the rest of the internals include 1GB of RAM with either 4 or 16GB of ROM. You’ll also have the ability to expand your memory by 32GB through the microSD card slot. The sensor set includes; GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP, Dolby sound, RM Radio, Accelerator, Gyroscope, Compass, Proximity senros, and Light sensor as well.

HTC Desire X.

   HTC has come up with a new refresh of the classic HTC Desire, but this phone is quite a strange beast because it's a high-quality mid-range phone and it's pretty much in a range of it's own because of the mismatch of the internals.

   This phone has a solid 4-inch 480 x 800 pixel super LCD display and an ultra powerful 1Ghz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and the software is a Sense 4.0 take on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich although we haven't heard if it'll be updated to Jelly Bean, but we expect it will.

   The storage, as will all Desire devices, leaves something to be 'desired', in this case there's 4GB of internal storage and 768 MB of RAM. In an attempt to appease you HTC will throw in 25GB of cloud storage free with Dropbox for two years. But at least there's a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of extra storage. As always you can get some Beats Audio out of that 3.5mm headphone jack.

   You audiophiles will also appreciate the Bluetooth 4.0 stereo audio quality – APT-X CODEC for BT A2DP is also included. You’ve also got the option for HD voice calls, if your network offers it and an FM radio. Your sensors include a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and G-sensor. The battery in this device is another1650 mAh unit that HTC claims will provide 10 hours of talk time in 3G or 20 hours in 2G, with 34 days of standby if you’re using 3G or 31 days using 2G – we're not sure who HTC employed to do their maths!!!

   The camera is also noteworthy; it's a 5MP BSI lense with HTC ImageChip, the same one that you might have in your HTC One series device. The camera also uses a F2.0 aperture, wide angle 28 mm lens, and an LED flash with SmartFlash. SmartFlash functionality is quite useful as it allows five level of flash that are automatically set by your camera detecting distance to the objects at hand.

   All in all it's a nice mid-range device but we're not sure this is going to drastically change HTC's fortunes.
